bioNative is a family-owned enterprise devoted to delivering premium, hand-raised, and sustainably cultivated nuts directly to consumers. We are firmly committed to preserving soil and water resources for future generations. Our pistachios and other nut varieties are produced on a 150-hectare estate located in Villamalea, a northern town in the Albacete province on Spain’s East coast, approximately one hour inland from Valencia. Despite the region’s dry and arid climate, our land remains visually breathtaking and is continually evolving.

Meet Julio, Our Founder
The bioNative brand was established by Julio, a law graduate with a long-standing passion for environmental conservation. His involvement in two conservation groups led him to create a tree nursery in 1990, which has since become one of the largest and most significant in the Iberian Peninsula, now home to more than 250 species. Seeking further opportunities for sustainable agriculture, Julio pioneered pistachio cultivation by grafting onto an existing wild plant—a process that typically requires twenty grafts to yield a single viable plant.
In contrast to other farms that replace traditional almond tree varieties, Julio and our family continue to harvest exclusively from pre-existing trees, some of which date back to 1930. These trees are well adapted to the unique soil and climate of the Iberian Peninsula. Although this method presents unique challenges, it allows us to offer nuts with exceptional flavour that are certified organic, Biodynamic, and Bio-integral, while also actively promoting long-term soil preservation.

We offer you nuts with their original taste
At bioNative, our dedication is to provide nuts that retain their authentic, natural taste. Our pistachios and almonds differ from ordinary market offerings—they are entirely unsalted and raw, never roasted. Each product is processed without additives or flavour enhancers, ensuring a pure and unaltered taste that echoes what our ancestors once enjoyed.
We take great pride in our careful harvesting and processing techniques, which are designed to preserve the freshness and quality of our nuts and fruits. Our process involves harvesting, collecting, and processing all produce on the very same day. For example, our pistachios are carefully de-skinned and then dried at a low temperature for 24 hours. This gentle method safeguards all their nutritional properties, allowing you to enjoy nuts in their most natural and wholesome form.

We select for you only the best products
Not all nuts are created equal, so to consistently offer the highest quality products, we have implemented a strict selection process.
To meet our premium standards, we utilise a thorough filtering system. Initially, an air-cyclone removes all empty shells. We then mechanically separate pistachios, almonds, and jujube into different sizes and types.
A third manual filtering is conducted with the help of dedicated women workers from Viamallea, ensuring, for example, that all our pistachios meet our premium requirements for size, aperture, and cleanliness (we never use chemical products to clean the shells). Nuts that do not meet our standards are used for other products.
